The Majella Massif
This camera looks out over the Majella (Maiella), one of the highest and wildest mountain groups of the Apennines. Its limestone walls and steep forested flanks form a rugged amphitheatre that dominates the horizon above the village.
The Balzolo Gorge
A deep ravine cuts through the rock below the viewpoint, a hallmark of the Majella National Park. The dense woodland cloaking the slopes shelters wildlife and threads together the hiking trails that climb toward the summits.
Pennapiedimonte & Its Setting
Perched at around 710 metres, the historic hillside village of Pennapiedimonte clings to the mountainside in the Province of Chieti. Its stone houses and panoramic position make it a classic gateway into the surrounding protected wilderness.
