Arrakis Ski Area Panorama
OnlineA sweeping panorama from the Arrakis ski area above Žacléř, where mown meadows and wooden snow fences roll downhill toward a band of dense forest. Beyond it, the rounded ridges of the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) rise along the horizon, framing one of the most scenic corners of north-east Bohemia.

The Krkonoše Panorama
This camera looks out from the Arrakis ski area in Prkenný Důl, a valley hamlet of Žacléř, across the foothills of the Krkonoše. The long horizon belongs to the highest mountain range in the Czech Republic, a UNESCO biosphere reserve straddling the Polish border.
A Year-Round Resort
The slopes you see drop toward Žacléř and the upper Úpa basin. In the winter season the meadows become groomed pistes served by lifts; through the rest of the year the same hillsides are hiking and cycling terrain, dotted with the wooden snow fences that keep the runs in shape.
Forest and Ridge
Below the open alpine meadows, mixed spruce and beech forest cloaks the slopes of the Vraní hory (Crow Mountains) and the surrounding ridges. The layered greens give way to the blue-grey silhouette of the Giant Mountains' main crest far in the distance.
Bohemian Highlands
Žacléř is a historic mining and border town in the Trutnov District, and this vantage captures the quiet, rural character of the Bohemian highlands — wide meadows, deep woods, and the ever-present backdrop of the Krkonoše.
