Stachelberg Artillery Fortress Live
OnlineThis camera surveys the imposing concrete bulk of the Stachelberg Artillery Fortress, the largest fortification of Czechoslovakia's 1930s border defences, rising from a green hilltop near Trutnov. Beyond the massive bunker stretch the rolling wooded ridges of the Giant Mountains foothills, with open meadows, scattered trees and a winding access road framing this monumental piece of military heritage.

Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Monumental Fortress on the Border
The view is dominated by the colossal concrete artillery block of Stachelberg, conceived as the centrepiece of Czechoslovakia's fortified frontier. Its raw, angular mass contrasts sharply with the soft green slopes around it, a striking reminder of interwar military engineering.
The Giant Mountains Backdrop
Beyond the fortress unfold the forested ridges and pastoral valleys of the Krkonoลกe foothills in north-eastern Bohemia. The panoramic horizon of wooded summits gives the scene a distinctly Central European highland character.
A Living Heritage Site
Today the fortress operates as an open-air military museum, drawing visitors who explore its tunnels and casemates. The access road and open meadows in the foreground frame an evolving cultural landmark near the Polish border.
