D11 Motorway Bridge Construction

A major infrastructure project in progress

This camera documents the construction of the D11 motorway bridge near Trutnov, one of the most ambitious civil-engineering undertakings in eastern Bohemia. The 715-metre viaduct will carry the D11 motorway across the valley, extending the route toward the Polish border. Visible piers, falsework and segmental decks trace the bridge's slow march across the landscape.

The view from EPO1

The vantage point is the gallery of the EPO1 contemporary art centre, a former power station converted into a cultural venue. From this elevated terrace the camera captures the entire work site, the cluster of tower cranes, and the industrial fringe of Poříčí below.

Town and landscape

Beyond the construction zone, the red-roofed houses of Poříčí give way to green meadows, an electrical substation, and the forested ridges of the Giant Mountains foothills that surround the Trutnov basin.
