White Stork Nest at Pasieka
OnlineA colony of white storks gathers atop a towering twig nest perched above the rural hamlet of Pasieka. The wide-angle lens takes in the birds' elegant black-and-white plumage and long coral-red bills against a sweep of open farmland and distant patchwork fields. Cared for by the local Pomagam Bocianom stork-rescue association, it is an intimate window onto one of Poland's most beloved birds.

The Stork Nest Above Pasieka
This camera looks down onto a large white stork nest built on an elevated platform over the small settlement of Pasieka, in central Poland's Łódź region. The fish-eye view frames the entire nest along with the resident storks as they preen, rest and tend to their young.
The White Stork (Ciconia ciconia)
Instantly recognisable by their white bodies, black flight feathers and bright red legs and bills, white storks are deeply woven into Polish folklore and are considered a symbol of good fortune. Poland hosts one of Europe's largest breeding populations of these graceful long-distance migrants.
A Rural Countryside Setting
Beyond the nest stretches a mosaic of cultivated fields, hedgerows and scattered farmsteads typical of the Kutno County lowlands. The surrounding meadows and wetlands provide the frogs, insects and small mammals that feed the growing brood.
Care by Pomagam Bocianom
The nest sits under the watch of the Pomagam Bocianom ("We Help Storks") rehabilitation association, which supports injured and orphaned birds. The stream offers a rare, up-close chance to follow the daily life of a wild stork family throughout the breeding season.
