White Dolphin House Coastal Wetland
OnlineThe White Dolphin House โ officially the Changhua County Nature and Ecology Education Center โ rises in sculptural white curves above the Dadu River estuary on Taiwan's central coast. The camera frames its flowing architecture against a nationally important wetland and the spinning blades of the Changhua coastal wind farm, where migratory waterbirds and fiddler crabs gather across the tidal flats.

An Architectural Landmark on the Coast
Completed in 2020, the White Dolphin House is celebrated as one of central Taiwan's most romantic white landmarks. Its geometric, flowing walls blend lawns, gentle slopes and a waterfront promenade into a single sculptural gesture that seems to ride the tide.
A Nationally Important Wetland
The center sits beside the Dadu River estuary, one of Taiwan's national-grade wetlands. The surrounding mudflats of Shengang are known as the "home of fiddler crabs and waterbirds", hosting Eurasian curlews, dunlins, terns and the occasional endangered black-faced spoonbill.
Wind Turbines on the Horizon
Beyond the wetland, the rotating blades of the Changhua coastal wind farm line the shore โ part of one of Asia's largest wind energy developments, a striking contrast of nature and clean technology.
Ecology and Education
Built by the Changhua County Government, the center carries an educational mission to share knowledge of oceans, wetlands and conservation, with exhibits and souvenir displays that draw families to this stretch of the central Taiwan coast.
