A Ridge Above the City

Wanggaoliao occupies the highest point of Dadu Plateau, a long basalt ridge that separates the Taichung basin from the coastal plain. From this elevated perch, the camera looks out across the rooftops of Taichung City toward the distant mountains, giving viewers a bird's-eye read of the metropolis rarely available at street level.

Harbor and River Views

To the west, the ridge opens onto the Taichung Harbor district, while the Dadu River plain unfolds to the south — a rare vantage that ties the city, its port, and its agricultural lowlands into a single continuous frame.

A Beloved Local Gathering Place

The terrace beneath the camera is anchored by a heart-shaped light installation, a well-known feature that has made Wanggaoliao a popular spot for couples, photographers, and casual visitors alike. Tiered stone seating and a paved plaza invite lingering, turning the hillside into one of Taichung's most cherished public overlooks.
