Mounted high on Baguashan, the Eight Trigrams Mountain that rises above Changhua City, this camera commands a wide, unobstructed view of the fertile Changhua Plain. Without ever leaving the ground, viewers take in a landscape that stretches from the wooded foothills to the densely built lowland and, in clear conditions, all the way to the coast.

A Living Transport Corridor

The plain below is one of Taiwan's great movement arteries. A broad expressway carries a steady stream of vehicles across the foreground, while the elevated Taiwan High Speed Rail viaduct skirts the foot of the mountain, where sleek trains can be seen racing between the western cities.

The City of Yuanlin and the Plain

On the horizon spreads Yuanlin City, one of the most populous towns of the region, its rooftops and towers fading into the hazy distance. Patchwork fields, factories and clustered settlements fill the middle ground, offering a panoramic portrait of central-western Taiwanese life.
