A Panorama from the Roof of Levi
This camera looks out from the summit of Levi Fell (Levitunturi), the highest point of the resort, where lift stations and a viewing terrace give way to an open Arctic horizon. The gentle, rounded fells of central Lapland stretch in every direction, dotted with forests and glittering lakes.
Levi Ski Resort
Levi is one of Finland's largest and most popular ski resorts, set in the municipality of Kittilä in Finnish Lapland, above the Arctic Circle. A gondola and dozens of slopes climb the fell, and the resort regularly hosts FIS Alpine Ski World Cup slalom races each November.
Above the Arctic Circle
Levi rises well north of the Arctic Circle, and the panorama reflects that extreme latitude: rounded, largely treeless fell tundra rolls toward distant ridgelines, threaded with lakes and boreal forest. The polar summer bathes the fells in months of unbroken daylight, while the polar winter brings deep snow and the frequent aurora borealis that make Lapland famous.
