A Window on the Reef Wall
This camera sits on the top of a steep coral wall that drops roughly 120 feet to the ocean floor. Installed about 400 feet from shore at a depth of 25 feet, it frames the living edge of the reef where hard corals, sea fans and sponges cling to the structure.
Caribbean Marine Life
The water here teems with colourful fish. Watch for schooling Wrasse, bold Sergeant Majors and slender Trumpetfish hovering over the coral, with the occasional larger visitor cruising the deep blue beyond the wall.
Part of the Meso-American Reef
Utopia Village fronts the Meso-American Reef, the second-largest barrier reef system on Earth, here meeting the turquoise waters of Utila, smallest of the Bay Islands. The reef rises almost to the shoreline, making this one of the most accessible wall dives in the region.
A Live Conservation Window
Operated within the EXPLORE.org nature-cam network, the feed doubles as a real-time research and conservation tool, offering an unscripted look at a thriving tropical reef and the marine life it shelters.
