Everything you need to know about this live stream
The World's Smallest Bear
This camera focuses on the Malayan sun bear (Helarctos malayanus), the smallest of the eight bear species and named for the pale crescent marking on its chest. Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, these agile climbers use long claws and an extraordinary tongue to reach honey, termites and fruit.
A Naturalistic Habitat
The enclosure blends open lawn with carved wooden dens, climbing logs and a stone perimeter, giving the bears room to forage and roam. The enriched layout encourages the natural behaviours that make sun bears such captivating animals to watch.
Zoo Negara, Malaysia's National Zoo
Set in Ampang on the edge of Kuala Lumpur, Zoo Negara spans over 100 hectares and is home to thousands of animals. Its conservation and breeding programmes support many threatened species across the region.
Conservation and Awareness
The sun bear is classed as vulnerable, threatened by habitat loss and poaching. Live windows like this one help audiences worldwide connect with a species that is rarely seen in the wild, supporting education and protection efforts.
