A Front-Row View of Pennsylvania's Elk Herd
This HD live webcam streams from the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, deep in the forested hills of north-central Pennsylvania. The camera overlooks a broad viewing meadow bordered by tall grasses and a distant hardwood tree line, a favorite gathering spot for the region's free-roaming elk.
About the Elk Country Visitor Center
Run by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance, the center anchors Winslow Hill, one of the best-known viewing areas in Pennsylvania's Elk Country. Reintroduced from western herds in the early twentieth century, the state's elk population has grown into a herd of over a thousand animals ranging across state game lands and surrounding forest.
A Sanctuary for North America's Largest Deer Species
Bull elk here can weigh over 700 pounds and carry towering antlers, while cows and calves move through the meadow in loose family groups. The open sightlines make this one of the most reliable wild elk viewing spots east of the Mississippi.
