A Gateway to the Rodna Mountains
This chairlift rises from a small base station in Borșa, at the edge of the Rodna Mountains Nature Park in Maramureș. The line follows an open grassy corridor bordered by spruce forest, carrying visitors up toward the ridge that leads to the Cascada Cailor waterfall, one of the tallest cascades in the Carpathians.
Traditional Maramureș Setting
Around the base of the lift, wooden chalets and guesthouses with steep, ornate roofs reflect the traditional architecture of the Maramureș region. A perimeter fence and access road frame the property, while the surrounding hillside remains largely open pasture dotted with scattered trees.
Year-Round Mountain Access
In winter, the lift serves the Borșa ski slopes, giving skiers and snowboarders direct access to the resort's runs. Outside the snow season, the same corridor becomes a hiking and sightseeing route, drawing visitors toward the alpine trails and dramatic scenery of the Rodna range.
A Landmark for the Region
As one of the main lifts serving the Borșa resort, this station is a familiar checkpoint for both local skiers and travelers exploring the Maramureș highlands. Its position at the mouth of the valley makes it a natural staging point for excursions deeper into the Rodna Mountains.
