A Second Carpathian Eyrie
This enormous nest of interwoven branches sits atop a tall conifer overlooking the forested ridgelines of Bucovina, part of Romania's Carpathian Mountains. It is the second golden eagle nest that the Wild Bucovina Association has equipped with a live camera, extending volunteers' work to document these raptors without disturbing them.
Pฤuศa and Cฤliman
The nest is home to a young pair, Pฤuศa and Cฤliman, who first bred together in a recent season and successfully raised a chick. Golden eagles share incubation and hunting duties, delivering prey to the nest and continually reinforcing it with fresh branches.
Europe's Largest Raptor
Aquila chrysaetos is among the largest birds of prey on the continent, and this elevated vantage point reveals courtship, feeding, and chick-rearing behaviors rarely documented outside dedicated fieldwork.
Conservation Through Observation
By streaming this nest to viewers worldwide, the Wild Bucovina Association raises awareness of golden eagle biology and supports wider efforts to protect undisturbed nesting habitat across Romania's mountain forests.
