The Den of Two Rescued Brothers

This camera watches over the sheltered sleeping quarters of Benji and Balu, two brother bears who arrived from Azerbaijan and now call the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary home. The straw-bedded timber den is one of several private spaces they can choose within an enclosure of more than 3,500 square metres.

A Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight

The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary in Sandown rescues and rehomes animals from across the world, giving them spacious, naturalistic habitats. Benji and Balu's enclosure offers them room to roam, climb and explore, complete with a look-out platform overlooking the sea.

What You Might Spot

Bears are endearingly unpredictable, so each visit is different — you may find the den empty while the brothers play, forage or rest elsewhere, or catch one of them curled up in the straw. Patient viewers are rewarded with intimate glimpses of these much-loved rescues.
