Bee in Ossola Hive Entrance Cam

The Hive's Front Door

This exterior live camera frames the flight entrance of an urban beehive installed on the terrace of the Ossola Outdoor Center in Crevoladossola, at the gateway to Italy's Val d'Ossola.

A Constant Stream of Foragers

Watch worker bees land on the wooden board, legs packed with pollen, before squeezing through the mesh entrance to unload their cargo inside — a snapshot of the colony's tireless foraging economy.

Bees as Environmental Sentinels

The camera belongs to Bee in Ossola, a biomonitoring project run by the beekeeping company Alveare Ossolano with the cultural association La Balza, using the colony's activity to gauge the health of the surrounding territory.

Guarding the Colony

Look closely and you may spot guard bees inspecting arriving foragers at the threshold — the hive's first line of defense — while the project's educational outreach teaches the Val d'Ossola community about pollinators.
