The Raccoon Saloon began as an ordinary hunting camp in rural Maine, used only a few times a year by a group of out-of-state hunters. As the owners aged and visits grew rare, the property was left quietly abandoned — and a resourceful family of wild raccoons moved in, claiming every corner of the farmhouse, including this cluttered woodshed, as their own.

An Infrared Eye on the Feeding Station

Mounted inside the woodshed, this infrared camera keeps a steady watch over a wide wooden platform lined with feeding bowls and water dishes. A weathered wooden stairway climbs toward the loft above, while a small blue wading pool sits tucked in the corner — details that give the space its distinctly lived-in, improvised feel.

A Gathering Spot for the Resident Raccoons

The woodshed serves as one of several regular feeding points around the property, where the resident raccoons stop to eat, drink, and cool off before moving on. A doorway straight ahead leads outside to the area covered by the "Back Door" camera, while the stairs behind lead up toward the "Over Shed" view.
