Sandown Beach and Bay

Stretching along the eastern shore of the Isle of Wight, Sandown Beach unfurls a wide ribbon of golden sand within the gentle curve of Sandown Bay. The shallow waters and broad foreshore have made this one of the island's most beloved seaside resorts.

The Seafront Esplanade

A lamp-lined esplanade traces the back of the beach, dotted with traditional beach huts, kiosks and the green-painted Sandown Pier, a Victorian pleasure pier reaching out over the water. The promenade links a parade of seaside hotels and amusements.

Cliffs and Coastline

Rising behind the resort, the verdant cliffs of Sandown Bay sweep north toward Culver Down, framing the bay in dramatic relief and offering some of the finest coastal walking on the island.
