This camera overlooks the main beach of Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, a broad crescent of fine sand more than a kilometre long. Framed by low bluffs and a promenade, it is the heart of one of the Emerald Coast's classic seaside resorts.

The sheltered bay opens onto the English Channel and the wider Atlantic, its turquoise shallows shifting with the strong Breton tides. The headlands closing the bay give the shoreline its calm, protected feel.
