The Beach at Port Mer

This camera overlooks Plage de Port Mer, the principal sandy beach of Cancale on Brittany's northern coast. A broad crescent of sand curves around a naturally sheltered cove, making it one of the most popular spots in the area for families and watersports enthusiasts.

A Hub for Sailing

Lines of dinghies and catamarans line the foreshore, drawn up beside the local sailing school. The protected bay offers gentle conditions ideal for learning, while moored vessels swing at anchor on the calm water just offshore.

The Emerald Coast

Port Mer sits along the celebrated Côte d'Émeraude, a stretch of rugged headlands, coves and clear green waters near the entrance to the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Wooded points enclose the bay on either side, a classic Breton seascape.

Cancale & Its Oysters

The town of Cancale is world-renowned for its oyster farming, with beds visible at low tide and a lively port nearby. The Pointe du Grouin and the scenic GR34 coastal path lie a short distance along the shore.
