This ceiling-mounted camera looks down on a handcrafted climbing structure built inside a once-abandoned farmhouse in rural Maine. What began as a forgotten hunting lodge has become a refuge for a resident colony of wild raccoons that wander freely through its rooms.

A Rustic Interior

Exposed timber framing, a weathered brick chimney, and a set of mounted deer antlers give the space its rugged, lived-in character. The wooden platforms were purpose-built to give the raccoons safe places to climb, perch, and rest above the floor.

Watching Wild Behavior Up Close

Because the raccoons come and go on their own terms, the feed offers an unscripted look at natural mammal behavior rarely seen this close — climbing, grooming, and social interaction among a wild colony that has made the old house its own.
