Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Nest Rebuilt from Scratch
After a 2025 windstorm destroyed the original nest that had stood for 22 years, the resident bald eagle pair constructed a new home about 15 feet below the old site, in the same sycamore tree roughly 75 feet above the ground.
Camera Placement
Positioned at nest level and facing northwest, this camera offers an intimate, close-range perspective on the nest bowl and its surrounding branches, complementing companion cameras that frame the wider Potomac River valley canopy and a view looking straight down from above.
About the National Conservation Training Center
Operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the NCTC campus near Shepherdstown, West Virginia, sits within a wooded grove that has hosted generations of nesting eagles, offering biologists and the public a rare window into raptor family life.
Continuous Monitoring
An infrared-enabled camera system provides round-the-clock coverage of the nest, capturing stick-gathering, incubation, and the fledging of young eagles as the seasons progress.
