A Gateway Harbor on Green Island

Nanliao Fishing Harbor is the main gateway linking Green Island to Taitung on Taiwan's east coast, and this webcam looks out from the pier across the open Pacific Ocean. Ferries and fishing boats use the harbor on a regular schedule, making it a lively vantage point for watching island life unfold.

World-Class Waters at Shilang

Just south of the harbor lies the Shilang Diving Area, often called an underwater paradise for its extensive fringing coral reefs and resident reef fish. The Kuroshio Current keeps the water exceptionally clear, drawing snorkelers and scuba divers from across the region to explore its shallow reef flats.

Volcanic Coastline & Distant Peaks

The camera frames a rugged, volcanic coastline fringed by coral outcrops, with the silhouette of Green Island's own lighthouse standing to the north. On especially clear days, the distant ridgeline of the Dawu Mountains on mainland Taiwan is visible far across the water.

A Living Marine Sanctuary

Beneath the surface, the reef supports a rich variety of hard and soft corals alongside countless reef fish, and each spring flying fish are known to leap across these waters. This feed offers a continuous window onto one of Taiwan's most celebrated marine ecosystems.
