Honolulu Zoo Rhino Savanna
OnlineThis Honolulu Zoo camera looks out over the Rhino Savanna, a broad East African-style grassland built for the zoo's white rhinoceroses and their grazing companions. Everything you need to know about this live stream
An East African Savanna at the Zoo
The Rhino Savanna recreates an open East African grassland, with rolling grass plains, rock outcrops, and scattered shade trees standing in for the wide-open range of the animals' native habitat. The layout gives the zoo's white rhinoceroses generous room to graze, wallow, and move freely across the exhibit.
Grazing Companions
Like many African savanna habitats, the exhibit is shared with other grazing species that naturally range alongside rhinos in the wild, adding movement and variety across the enclosure's grassy terrain and giving visitors โ and the camera โ a fuller picture of savanna wildlife living side by side.
Kapiolani Park & the Honolulu Zoo
Founded in 1914, the Honolulu Zoo sits within historic Kapiolani Park at the foot of Diamond Head, near Waikiki on the island of Oสปahu. The Rhino Savanna is one of several African-themed habitats across the zoo's 42-acre grounds.
