The Belvedere of Forca di Valle
Set at roughly 840 metres above the Teramo hinterland, the belvedere of Forca di Valle is a little-known balcony onto the wildest face of the Gran Sasso. The camera looks out over deep ravines and soaring ridgelines that feel almost unreachable.
The Northern Wall of the Gran Sasso
Directly ahead stands the immense north face of Corno Grande, the highest peak of the Apennines, flanked by the Vallone delle Cornacchie and the slender Corno Piccolo. The vertical 1,200-metre wall of Monte Camicia and the green meadows of Brancastello complete a truly monumental mountain theatre.
A Gateway for Hikers and Climbers
The viewpoint is a launching point for trails toward Rifugio Franchetti, Prati di Tivo and the summits of Corno Grande and Corno Piccolo. The motorized lens helps walkers gauge conditions on the high routes before setting out.
