The Danjiang Bridge
The Danjiang Bridge (ๆทกๆฑๅคงๆฉ) is an asymmetric single-tower cable-stayed bridge designed by Zaha Hadid Architects to span the lower Tamsui River. Celebrated as one of the longest single-tower spans of its kind, its tall, tapering pylon anchors a fan of cables that gives the structure its sculptural silhouette.
The Tamsui River Estuary
The bridge spans the point where the Tamsui River empties into the Taiwan Strait, a broad tidal estuary edged by sandbars and mudflats. Working fishing boats, ferries and cargo ships move through the channel that has served this coast for centuries.
What You'll See
The lens looks out over the open river mouth toward the sea, with the bridge's white pylon at center and the Tamsui waterfront and ridgelines framing the scene. Vessels crossing beneath the deck give a constant sense of movement on the water.
