The Canyon Lodge Base

Canyon Lodge is one of the principal portals into the Mammoth Mountain ski domain, sitting at roughly 8,000 feet on the mountain's south-eastern flank. The camera frames its day-lodge rooftop, the surrounding apron of trails and the chairlifts that ferry skiers and riders toward the higher bowls.

Eastern Sierra Terrain

The slopes here are carved into a volcanic landscape of the Eastern Sierra high country, with weathered granite outcrops, wind-shaped pines and chutes that drop away from the ridgelines. The exposed, high-altitude character gives Mammoth its famously long season and expansive panoramas.
