A High-Sierra Vantage Point
Perched at roughly 9,600 feet on the flank of Mammoth Mountain, McCoy Station is the resort's mid-mountain hub. The camera looks out over a commanding stretch of the eastern Sierra range, where layered granite ridges recede toward the horizon.
Peaks, Valleys and Forest
The view captures the dramatic relief of the range โ snow-flecked summits, deep glacial valleys and dense stands of lodgepole pine blanketing the lower slopes. It is a classic high-country landscape of the California backcountry.
The Mammoth Ski Domain
In the foreground sit the Parallax restaurant and the chairlift infrastructure that carries skiers and sightseers across one of North America's largest ski areas. Cleared runs and service roads trace lines across the mountainside.
Mono County, California
Above the town of Mammoth Lakes in Mono County, this corner of the eastern Sierra is a year-round draw for hikers, mountain bikers and skiers exploring the Inyo National Forest and the wider high-elevation wilderness.
