Blue Anchor Station
Blue Anchor Station sits on the coastal stretch of the West Somerset Railway, a short walk from Blue Anchor Bay on the Bristol Channel. The single-platform halt is lovingly maintained by a dedicated station team, complete with traditional signage, a signal box and a small museum of railway memorabilia.
The West Somerset Railway
Running for some twenty miles between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, the West Somerset Railway is one of Britain's premier preserved lines. Restored steam and heritage diesel locomotives haul vintage carriages past beaches, fields and rolling hills, recreating the golden age of branch-line travel.
What you can see
The camera looks along the platform and down the running line as it curves out of the station. Watch for steam and diesel services calling at the halt, passengers waiting on the period benches, and the ever-changing coastal scenery of the Somerset shore beyond the tracks.
