Bird Box 5 Interior Cam

Inside Bird Box 5

The camera looks straight down into Bird Box 5, revealing a tightly woven cup of dried grass, straw, and fine fibers cradling a small clutch of pale blue eggs.

Part of a Backyard Wildlife Network

This box is one of several nest cameras installed across a wooded property in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, part of the PixCams network dedicated to sharing the private lives of cavity-nesting songbirds with a worldwide audience.

A Season of Growth

Viewers can follow the entire arc of the nesting cycle here, from the quiet stillness of incubation to the sudden bustle of hatching and the rapid daily changes as the chicks grow toward fledging.

An Unobtrusive Window

By keeping a fixed, low-disturbance camera trained on the nest, the operators offer a rare and undisturbed look at behavior that would otherwise go completely unseen inside the enclosed box.
