Barry Yacht Club Harbour
OnlineThis camera overlooks the tidal Old Harbour at Barry Yacht Club, where moored yachts and small craft rest along a curving stone breakwater on the rugged Bristol Channel coast. A timber jetty and slipway reach out across broad mud flats that drain and refill with the region's enormous tidal range. On the horizon, the Bristol Channel opens toward distant islands and the open sea.

Everything you need to know about this live stream
The Tidal Old Harbour
Barry's Old Harbour is a working tidal basin sheltered by a curving stone breakwater. At low water the harbour reveals expansive rippled mud flats threaded with channels; as the tide returns, the moored yachts and dinghies lift and swing gently on their moorings.
Barry Yacht Club
Barry Yacht Club is a long-established sailing club set at the heart of the harbour, with a slipway and a timber jetty reaching out over the foreshore. It serves as a busy base for cruising, dinghy racing and family boating on the Bristol Channel.
The Bristol Channel & Its Tidal Range
The harbour opens onto the Bristol Channel, which has one of the largest tidal ranges in the world. Across the water the small islands of Flat Holm and Steep Holm lie offshore, marking the channel as it widens toward the open sea.
A South Wales Coastal Setting
Perched on the coast at Barry, the scene combines a historic dock and harbour wall with active recreational sailing. The vantage point captures boats coming and going, the shifting waterline and the wide sweep of the surrounding coast.
