The Raccoon Saloon began as an ordinary hunting camp in rural Maine, used only a few times a year by a group of out-of-state hunters. As the owners aged and visits grew rare, the property was left quietly abandoned — and a resourceful family of wild raccoons moved in, claiming every corner of the farmhouse as their own.

A Roaming View of the Rafters

Mounted beneath the roofline, this pan-tilt-zoom camera can swing across the entire attic, following the raccoons as they climb among the exposed beams. Dusty floorboards, an old brick chimney, and a scatter of forgotten household items give the space a distinctly untouched, time-capsule feel.

A Favorite Hideaway

The attic serves as one of the raccoons' preferred resting spots, tucked away from the more open rooms below. A small window lets in the outside world, while the camera's wide reach captures the animals' comings and goings across this quiet upper floor.
