About This Webcam
Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Hidden Raptor Stronghold
This live feed watches over a large stick nest in the boreal forests of western Zemgale, one of Latvia's lowland regions. Set seventeen metres up in a mature spruce, the nest occupies a stable three-pronged fork formed where the trunk once split into several new crowns โ a classic site for the species.
Forest Camera, Wild Tenants
The camera offers an intimate overhead view of the platform and its surrounding canopy. Over the years the nest has hosted breeding raptors raising their young, and viewers can follow the daily rhythms of the resident birds โ feeding, preening and the slow growth of each downy chick.
Conservation in Action
The stream is run by the Latvian Fund for Nature (Latvijas Dabas fonds) as part of its long-running effort to monitor and protect Latvia's vulnerable woodland raptors. The exact location is kept deliberately vague to safeguard the birds from disturbance during the sensitive breeding period.
