This live camera looks out from the deck of Zambezi Mubala Lodge, perched on the Namibian bank of the mighty Zambezi River in the Zambezi Region's Caprivi Strip. A wooden pontoon jetty extends into the water, ready for the lodge's river cruises, while the current drifts silently past a distant, forested far shore.

Life Along the Riverbank

The Zambezi's floodplains here are part of one of southern Africa's richest wildlife corridors, home to hippos, crocodiles, and an abundance of waterbirds that forage among the reeds and shallows. Elephants and other game frequently wander down to drink at the water's edge, making this stretch of river a magnet for birding and wildlife enthusiasts.
