Woody Bay Railway Curve
OnlineThis second camera follows the narrow-gauge track of the historic Lynton & Barnstaple Railway as it curves away from Woody Bay Station through the rolling green hills of North Devon. Closed in 1935, the line is being lovingly rebuilt, and this wide vantage captures the quiet, pastoral Exmoor countryside the trains will soon cross again.

A Heritage Line Reborn
The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway first opened in 1898, carrying passengers and goods across the wild Exmoor landscape on its narrow-gauge track before closing in 1935. Decades later, a dedicated team of volunteers is rebuilding the line section by section, and Woody Bay Station stands as one of the project's proudest achievements.
A Second Vantage at Woody Bay
This camera looks out from Woody Bay Station along a different stretch of track than its companion feed, framing the line as it sweeps through open countryside. The wide view captures the full sweep of the curve, giving a sense of scale to this remote corner of the railway.
Exmoor's Rolling Countryside
Beyond the rails, the camera surveys the undulating hills and hedgerowed fields typical of North Devon, part of the wider Exmoor National Park. Grazing land, scattered trees and distant ridgelines give the scene an unmistakably pastoral character.
Watching the Rebuild in Real Time
Operated by Railcam UK in partnership with the railway, this feed lets viewers follow the ongoing restoration and, when trains run, catch a fleeting glimpse of steam and heritage carriages threading through the Devon hills.
