The Northern Val d'Astico

This view follows the Val d'Astico as it narrows toward the north, where the valley climbs from the comune of Valdastico up toward the passes bordering the Sette Comuni plateau. Steep wooded ridgelines converge in the distance, marking one of the more remote corridors of the province of Vicenza.

Alpine Slopes and Forest

Dense coniferous and mixed woodland covers the mountainsides on either side of the valley, interrupted here and there by exposed limestone outcrops. The terrain is typical of the Venetian Prealps, shaped over millennia by the Astico river cutting its course below.

A Hillside Hamlet

A small cluster of stone-roofed houses occupies a shelf on the valley side, a reminder of the scattered settlement pattern that defines the comune of Valdastico, where several hamlets share a single municipal government.

A Quiet Alpine Corridor

Far from major roads, this stretch of the valley offers a tranquil, unspoiled vantage over one of the lesser-known corners of the Veneto highlands, where forest, rock and river continue to shape the landscape.
