The Needles and Its Lighthouse
This live webcam looks out over The Needles, three towering chalk sea stacks that march out from the western tip of the Isle of Wight. At their seaward end stands the Needles Lighthouse, a red-banded tower that has guided ships through the Solent for over a century.
Chalk Cliffs and the Battery Headland
Above the stacks rise brilliant white chalk cliffs, capped by the historic Needles Battery and its clifftop coastguard lookout. The rugged downland of West High Down falls away in sheer ramparts to the surf below.
Across the Solent
Beyond the headland the busy waters of the Solent stretch toward the mainland coast of Hampshire. This real-time view captures one of England's most celebrated coastal landmarks above Alum Bay.
