Texel International Airport is the gateway by air to the largest of the Dutch Wadden islands. From this vantage point the grass runway stretches across flat polder land, with single-engine aircraft, gliders and microlights using the field throughout the flying season. The camera captures the steady rhythm of arrivals and departures.

Skydiving & Sightseeing Flights

The field is home to Paracentrum Texel, one of the Netherlands' best-known drop zones, so the sky regularly fills with canopies spiralling down to the landing area. Tessel Air also runs scenic flights over the island's beaches, dunes and the surrounding Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage area.

The Island Setting

Beyond the airfield perimeter lie the wide green meadows and big skies that define Texel. The flat North Holland landscape gives an uninterrupted horizon, ideal for spotting aircraft on final approach and watching weather roll in off the sea.

A relaxed terrace with deck chairs sits beside the apron, where aviation enthusiasts and day-trippers settle in to watch the action. It is a convivial vantage point that turns the working airfield into a small spectator attraction.
