The Cascade Skyline

Dominating the backdrop are the Three Sisters and Broken Top, a cluster of stratovolcanoes in the central Oregon Cascades. Their serrated, snow-clad ridgelines form one of the most recognizable mountain panoramas in the Pacific Northwest.

A Volcanic Ski Mountain

Mt. Bachelor is itself a dormant stratovolcano, rising above the Deschutes National Forest near Bend. Its high elevation and reliable snowpack make it one of the largest ski resorts in the western United States.
