The Gondola Base
The camera frames the Steamboat Gondola loading station, the main gateway onto the mountain. From here the eight-passenger cabins carry guests roughly 9,080 feet up to Thunderhead Lodge, the launch point for runs like Heavenly Daze, Spur Run and Rudi's Run.
Mount Werner Backdrop
Rising behind the plaza are the aspen-and-spruce-clad slopes of Mount Werner, the peak that gives Steamboat its famous fall line. The terrain is celebrated for its light, dry Champagne Powder snow, a trademark of this corner of the Rocky Mountains.
