What You'll See
This unique aerial webcam is fixed to the torch platform atop the Statue of Liberty, delivering an extraordinary downward view of her copper crown and its seven spikes, the raised right arm, and the tablet she holds. Below spreads the star-shaped outline of historic Fort Wood, the walking paths of Liberty Island, and the open waters of New York Harbor reaching toward the horizon.
About the Statue of Liberty
Dedicated in 1886 as a gift from the people of France, the statue was sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi with an internal iron framework by Gustave Eiffel. Formally titled Liberty Enlightening the World, she has welcomed generations of visitors and immigrants to New York Harbor and remains one of the most recognized monuments on Earth.
A Rare Vantage Point
Few cameras anywhere offer this close-up, elevated angle on a national monument. Perched at roughly 305 feet above the island, the camera reveals architectural details of the crown and torch normally seen only in photographs, alongside the full sweep of the harbor, passing ferries, and the distant Manhattan and New Jersey shorelines.
Location
The camera sits atop the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in Upper New York Bay, part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and reachable by ferry from Battery Park in Manhattan or Liberty State Park in New Jersey.
