The Slatina Cove

This camera overlooks one of the most sheltered swimming bays on Cres, a long pebble beach hugged by pine-clad slopes. The shallow, exceptionally clear water shifts from pale jade near the shore to deep blue offshore, a hallmark of the Kvarner Gulf.

Camp Slatina & the Adriatic

The cove fronts the Slatina holiday resort near the village of Martinšćica, a quiet fishing settlement on the western coast of the island. A buoyed swimming zone keeps bathers separate from the small boats and tenders that thread along the bay.

The Island of Cres

Cres is one of the largest and least developed islands in the Croatian Adriatic, known for its limestone cliffs, dense oak and pine forests, and a coastline of hidden coves. The surrounding hills shelter the bay from open-sea swell, keeping the water remarkably tranquil.

Things to Watch

Expect swimmers and snorkellers exploring the shallows, sailing boats and motor tenders crossing the channel, and the slow play of light across the water as it deepens from the pebble shoreline out toward the forested headlands.
