Krnica Harbour Boats and Bay

The Harbour

Krnički porat is the small working harbour serving the village of Krnica, set deep inside a narrow natural inlet that gives excellent shelter from the open sea. A stone quay, floating pontoons and a tight cluster of moorings host a mix of traditional fishing vessels and recreational craft.

The Setting

The cove cuts into the southeastern Istrian shoreline, with steep wooded slopes of Mediterranean pine and maquis rising directly from the waterline. The turquoise Adriatic and the rocky headlands give the bay its characteristic enclosed, lagoon-like feel.

Things to See

Watch boats arrive and depart, anglers tending their nets, and day-trippers heading out to nearby coves and the island channels. The harbour is a popular launch point for diving and coastal exploration along this stretch of the Istrian peninsula.
