A Living Heritage Tramway
The Seaton Tramway is a 2 ft 9 in narrow-gauge electric line running three miles between the resort town of Seaton, the village of Colyford and the ancient town of Colyton. Founded in 1970 along a former railway branch line, it preserves a fleet of half- and two-thirds-scale tramcars built in the tradition of classic British designs.
The View from Seaton Station
This camera sits on the north wall of Seaton Station, the coastal terminus, watching the trams leave the platform and head towards Windy Corner. The overhead wires, points and curving tracks give a constant sense of a working heritage line rather than a static museum.
Trams & the Axe Valley
Fourteen distinctive tramcars carry visitors along the scenic Axe estuary, a route prized for its birdlife and wetlands. Each tram is an open-top or enclosed replica of designs that once ran in London, Bournemouth and Exeter, making every departure a small piece of transport history.
Planning a Visit
One of Devon's most popular attractions, the tramway draws around 90,000 visitors a year. The station is the natural starting point for a ride, and this live view lets enthusiasts follow the comings and goings of the fleet from anywhere.
