The Rio Caí at Montenegro
The Rio Caí is one of the principal rivers of Rio Grande do Sul, flowing through fertile valleys before reaching the Jacuí delta. At Montenegro the river broadens beside the town centre, where this camera offers a sweeping view across the water toward the eastern reaches.
A Working Waterway
Small fishing boats and modest river craft are moored along the bank, a reminder of the river's enduring role in local livelihoods. The embankment road and its colourful riverside posts trace the edge of the channel as the current drifts past.
Community River Watch
Installed as a community-supported monitoring project, the feed lets residents follow the river's changing level — a practical resource for a region where the Caí's flow shapes both scenery and safety.
