Perched on the western seafront of Funchal, this live webcam overlooks the Ponta Gorda Lido, one of Madeira's best-loved oceanfront bathing complexes. The camera captures the endless sweep of the Atlantic Ocean meeting the island's dramatic volcanic coast.

The Ponta Gorda Lido

Below the lens stretch the lido's terraced sunbathing platforms, saltwater pools, and rugged lava-rock outcrops where bathers swim in the crystal-clear sea. A landscaped promenade with palms and a planted plaza lines the Estrada Monumental seafront.

Funchal & Madeira

Set in the parish of São Martinho, the lido lies just west of cosmopolitan Funchal, capital of the subtropical archipelago of Madeira. The wide horizon stretches toward the open Atlantic, often dotted with passing ships.
