Standing at 5,393 meters, Popocatépetl is one of the most iconic and closely monitored volcanoes in the Americas. Known affectionately as "Don Goyo", its steep cone frequently vents plumes of steam, gas, and ash, a constant reminder of the restless geology beneath central Mexico.

The Tlamacas Viewpoint

This live webcam broadcasts from Tlamacas, a high mountain refuge on the volcano's northern flank within Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park. The vantage offers a commanding, unobstructed line of sight toward the summit, the same perspective used by CENAPRED for official volcanic monitoring.

A Landscape of Snow and Stone

Beyond the crater, the scene reveals glacier-streaked slopes, rugged volcanic ridges, and pine forest sweeping across the dramatic highlands of central Mexico's Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt.
