Oudeschild is the only working harbour on Texel, the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands. This camera looks out over its lively entrance, capturing the constant traffic of fishing trawlers, sailing yachts and excursion boats that make this village the island's seafaring hub.

The Fishing Fleet & Waterfront

Texel's traditional cutters land their catch here, and the surrounding quays host maritime museums, chandlers and the harbourside café that hosts this view. The breakwaters and beacon guide every vessel safely between the harbour and the tidal channel.

The Wadden Sea Beyond

The horizon belongs to the Wadden Sea, one of the world's largest systems of intertidal sand and mud flats and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its shifting sandbanks and rich birdlife draw sailors, kayakers and naturalists throughout the year.
