The camera looks out from the Nordson Depot, a lovingly restored 1905 passenger station originally built by the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway. Once part of the famed Water Level Route, the location now serves as a community landmark overlooking one of Norfolk Southern's busiest corridors.

This stretch of the Chicago Line is a true freight powerhouse connecting Chicago to Cleveland. Modernized signaling lets the railroad run a double-tracked mainline efficiently, carrying intermodals, manifests, and the occasional heritage move past the depot at milepost 213.

Trains You Will See

Expect around fifty freight trains daily, plus Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited and Floridian services slicing through northern Ohio. The variety of motive power and rolling stock makes every hour at the lens unpredictable and rewarding for dedicated railfans.
