Everything you need to know about this live stream
A Sanctuary on Delaware Bay
The DuPont Nature Center sits at the mouth of the Mispillion River, where expansive salt marshes meet the open waters of Delaware Bay. This protected reserve is one of the East Coast's premier stopover points for migratory shorebirds and a nesting ground for resident raptors.
Life on the Nest Platform
The osprey pair returns each spring to this purpose-built platform, rebuilding and reinforcing their nest with sticks, marsh grass, and found materials. Ospreys are highly territorial fish specialists, plunging feet-first into the harbor's shallow waters to catch prey for themselves and their chicks.
A Tidal Wetland Ecosystem
Surrounding the nest, the Mispillion Harbor marshes support horseshoe crabs, migratory shorebirds, and a rich estuarine food web. The site's remote location keeps disturbance to a minimum, allowing the birds to nest undisturbed within view of the camera.
Conservation Through Observation
Operated by Delaware DNREC, this camera supports public education about coastal bird conservation, letting viewers follow the pair's seasonal nesting cycle from courtship through fledging.
